Ethnicity of Tatars from various regions: the similarities, differences and peculiarities

Crimean Tatars as a separate nation emerged tentatively in the XV century.Prior to that, on the peninsula lived various tribes and nations, of which was formed and given nationality. Now the appearance of the Tatars slightly resembles that it was 500 years ago. Moreover, people living in different countries and regions, it is not similar to each other.

representatives of this nation live mainly in the south of Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Turkey, and Uzbekistan (which were massively deported from the Crimea in the middle of the last century). In this regard, the resettlement of Crimean Tatars (whose appearance at that time was mostly close to Slavic) were forced to coexist with Asian nations, resulting in many national characteristics were lost.

Now, after returning to their historic homeland (at the end of the last century, they began to return to Crimea), this nation is trying to revive their traditions. But in exile were lost not only the cultural and historical values, and change the appearance of the Tatars."Thoroughbred" representatives of this nation - rather tall men with light (often red or blond) hair, light eyes and skin. However, mingling with the Uzbeks and other representatives of the eastern nations, many Tatars became dark, brown-eyed, with dark hair and typical Asian type of person.

Despite this external difference, life away from home has not led to significant internal strife. Now, more than ten years ago, the Crimean Tatars are trying to live together, the children are brought up in families with a view of traditional morality and religion (most of them Muslim), respect for elders, mutual assistance and support.

Despite the fact that the Tatar youth does not comply with certain rites and behavior more similar to Europeans, the basic traditions (respect for elders, holidays, weddings and some other events) is still preserved identity.Of course, the appearance of the Tatars is now little different from the appearance of other nationalities: nobody wears costumes, women, despite belonging to Islam, allow themselves to use cosmetics, wear revealing outfits and attend alone in a variety of activities (which was absolutely unacceptable for several decadesago).

But it's mostly for the residents of large cities, in remote areas and remote places of the Crimean steppes, many do not live as in the city, including the Tatars.Appearance (men, women, children) is more like the representatives of the nation, who lived in the last century.Girls behave modestly, children - obedient. In many villages, all the traditions are respected with a jeweler's precision, including fasts and feasts, weddings and funerals.

Geographically, the representatives of the people are divided into mountain-piedmont (tatlar), steppe (leg) and South Coast (Boyle).Ethnicity of Tatars also depends on this affiliation. Thus, the leg are more pronounced Asian features, thick and short stature.Tatlar more like Slavs - they are fair-skinned and tall.As for Boyle, they tend to be dark, but above the Nogai and tatlar, facial features have a more pleasant, though large.Currently, representatives of all three areas are so intermingled that a clear boundary between them does not exist.
